Peking University (PKU) is considered China's most prestigious institutions of higher education.
Our
seminar program was established in 1987 to help North Americans gain a
deeper knowledge and understanding of the culture, history, social and
political situations of China. Our professors and their foreign
language-speaking graduate students will not only teach participants
Chinese language, art, caligraphy, but also hold seminars on history,
economy, environment and social development. The seminar will
also be an excellent choice for marketing, management and finance majors
or executives who are seeking for business opportunities in one of the
fastest growing economies in the world.
Through specially
arranged meetings with Chinese historians and artists, and everyday
contact with faculty and students, participants are introduced to many
different aspects of Chinese life and culture, both traditional and
modern.
There will be sessions of Chinese language study.
Lectures are given through experienced English language interpreters.
Accommodation is provided on the historic and picturesque campus of the
university, where participants can immerse themselves in the academic
and social life around them. Frequent field trips are led by faculty and
students from the university.There will also be free time for
relaxation, shopping, sightseeing and visits to private homes. Extension
trips to Xian, Shanghai, Guilin, Inner Mongolia or a Yangtze River
Cruise can be requested and pre-arranged.
As the political,
educational, and cultural center of China, Beijing provides participants
with an unrivaled cultural and academic experience. This program
can be tailor-made based on the requirements of any organization,
department of universities or business institutes.
