To race the Taklamakan Desert race in September 2012

There is a race unknown to many that takes place in China once a year called the Taklamakan Rally, Basically its the Chinese version of the Dakar, I am looking at doing it this year and was wondering if anyone else would be interested in also taking part, The event will be held mid September.

The entire race will cover over 4,000 km, there are eight race sections, the special race section which will be extra difficult is nearly 2,000 km long. The race route will cover Turpan, Harmy, Bazhou, Hetian and Aksu; the eventual route will be released after the joint road inspection

Entry fee is somewhere in the region of R21000 so compared to the Dakar its a joke, and i am sure it will be the equivalent on the adventure scale to the experience of the Dakar, I will have confirmation of entry in the comming weeks, I have been in contact with the organizers and they will have the regs out in the next few weeks, and I will then have all the information, this is the first year that the event will be open to International competitors.
